Grade 4

Fouth grade is a year of Elementary education in Primary school. Students are usually 9 or 10 years old, depending on their birthday, unless they started school at an earlier or later date than the average student. It is important that your child enters fourth gradereading at grade level with solid comprehension skills.

Fourth grade can be an amazing year of learning in which learners gain greater command of an increasingly complex and mature set of social and academic skills. If teachers take the time to get to know their 4th grade learners, understand their common charecteristics, plan and teach accordingly.

Grade 5

Fifth grade is a year of education in primary school. Learners are usually 10-11 years old unless the child has been help back or skipped a grade. Academic skills you can expect of your fifth grader, enjoy organizing and classifying objects and ideas. Be able to read and concentrate for long periods of time. Read complex text fluently and with good comprehension.

In fifth grade, learners will practice more complex mathematical concepts such as exponents, decimals, fractions and more. They will read and understand new vocabulary in science and social studies as will significantly improve their grammar skills.

Grade 6

The sixth grade is the sixth school year in primary education. Learners are usually 11-12 years old. Understanding place value, rounding, skip counting, recognizing large numbers, working with decimals, fractions and problem solving are among the skills covered. Grade 6 prepares learners for the independence and challenge of junior high school.
